Over the last 13 years the charity Appledore Arts has run this successful and highly celebrated event. Nick Capaldi, Arts Council England said that the "Appledore Visual Arts Festival demonstrates that high quality art in the more rural parts of our region can be just as exciting – and important – as those in metropolitan centres".

Appledore lifeboat station
Dates to be advised Come and meet the crew of the Appledore lifeboat station at their exciting annual open day. Appledore lifeboat station is home to two lifeboats - an Atlantic 75 inshore lifeboat (ILB) and the very latest Tamar class all-weather lifeboat (ALB). We also have a third boat - a "boarding boat" - to access the moored Tamar. She too has been involved in her fair share of rescues. Appledore Life boat Web site
Appledore Book Festival
Saturday 29th September 2012 to 7th October 2012 The Appledore Book Festival is a charity with a mission to spread a love of reading and learning in North Devon whilst focusing publicity on the remarkable village of Appledore. In 2009 full local authority funding of the library building was restored, but our festival still works with the Library Service to promote libraries. And the correspondence address of the festival remains the Appledore Library building situated on the historic Appledore Quay. Read More
